The Pearly King and Queen

My Mom is Irish born and moved to London when she was a teen. I was born in a suburb of Boston. My Mom told us stories of Ireland and England when we were little. The Pearly King and Queen always fascinated me. I have always had the need for adornment. The suits and hats are decorated with pearl buttons. I had a picture in my own head before I ever saw the real thing. Here are some pics

Yankee Barn Sale, Dublin, NH

Yankee Magazine, headquarters in our town, puts on a Barn Sale every year. I love this!!! The treasures today were numerous. I am sitting here thinking about running back for the vintage ball jars and lightning jars. Wait, maybe I should go back for those flower tins, the red paint was perfectly distressed.

Wanted to share some of my treasure- hand carved mother of pearl buttons for pennies! Gorgeous vintage glass pearls, freshwater pearls, and a few real cultivated pearl strands. I found some amazing vintage book plates.

The food is always good, and the people are so interesting.

I was stunned at the exotic style of these pods. I recently moved from Florida where the tropical fauna was not surprising. But the amazing exotic pods in NH? I love the way they are color coordinated, enjoy!

Back to work

I love NH and I am very pleased that we have moved here. The nature is very inspiring. I feel my interests changing. Funny how the location you are living in inspires and influences you. I am rusty at my photo documenting and listing on Etsy. It took me all morning to list two items!

I wish I could stuff myself into the mail and go too! I am making a few dozen of my up-cycled flower brooches for a shop in New Zealand. I hope I get a photo of the shop or the proprietor.
